2014 Year In Review

For several years now I’ve been keeping track of my trips and travels on Facebook by uploading on photo from each place I visit. It saves my page from getting flooded with pointless galleries, and it serves as an easy reminder of the places I’ve gone throughout the year.

Now it’s time to do a quick reflection here on my blog of the 110 days I spent away from home, starting with January in Central America in ending with Asia in December.

15 Thailand Photos While En Route

After five weeks of traveling I’m finally heading home from Asia… If you’ve been following along you already know that while in Singapore a few weeks ago I decided to extend my trip for nine days so I could spend some time in Thailand. Having stayed on Tonsai Beach in Krabi three years ago I knew I would be able to have some good daily adventures, and more importantly, I would be able to enter a relaxed state of mind to help me recharge my batteries and clear my head before going into 2015—and that’s exactly what I did.

Thailand is an incredible country and this area of Krabi has a really special place in my heart, so I am very excited to share these 15 photos as I post them from the airport on my way back to California. Thanks for digitally coming along with me on this trip, and be on the lookout for more photos from Singapore, Malaysia, Bali, and Thailand in the coming weeks!

15 Bali Photos Wile En Route

Between the quaint beach village of Amed with it’s epic coastline and snorkeling and the ultra-hippy  veggie-heaven known as Ubud, Bali has been absolutely incredible! I’d even venture to say it is one of my favorite places I’ve ever been to. Picking only 15 photos to post while en route was kind of difficult, so be on the lookout for more photos from here after I get back from my travels. Today I’m off to Thailand for a week before heading back to the U.S. just in time the New Year. Enjoy the gallery, and happy holidays to all!

San Bernardino National Forest Hiking Photos

Yesterday a group of friends and I went on a hike in the San Bernardino National Forest and hung out at a really cool watering hole and cliff jumping spot. I brought my camera along for the adventure and snapped a few photos along the way… Here’s a bit of went down on our warm, sunny Sunday!

Squamish Chief Hike Photos

This past weekend I was in Whistler, B.C., Canada doing some work for MET-Rx at a Tough Mudder. It was absolutely beautiful there, and yesterday before I flew home I got up early to do the Squamish Chief Hike. The adventure came at the recommendation of someone on Instagram who I had oddly enough met on another hike in Hawaii a few years ago.

I climbed the second peak of The Chief, and the walk up and the view from the top were simply incredible. After descending, I also made my way over to Shannon Falls. Naturally, I had my camera in hand so I put together a little photo gallery from the day. Enjoy!

(*The picture of me at the top of this post, and the photo of the snow-capped mountain are from Whistler Olympic Park over the weekend while working.)

Travel Video: Thailand, Laos & Cambodia

At the end of 2011, just two days after quitting my full-time job, I spent five weeks traveling in Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia with my good buddy Lindsay Matush. I filmed a ton of video clips with no real purpose or intention, and after more than two years of the footage sitting on my hard drive I finally decided to sift through the four hours of video to put together this 15 minute montage. Getting to relive this journey through the footage was priceless, and I’m glad I finally buckled down and got this done!

Snorkeling in the Florida Keys – New GoPro Video

After snorkeling in my local waters of Southern California so often I was excited to hit the warm Atlantic Ocean this November and dive in the Florida Keys. On a chartered boat from Robbie’s Marina in Islamorada we hit Alligator Reef and Cheeca Rocks where we got to see giant schools of fish, lots of unique and interesting coral, and a friendly turtle that let us swim with him for a solid ten minutes. Here’s some of the GoPro footage from the afternoon!

Filmed with GoPro Hero2.
