30 Epic Travel Photos from Maui, Hawaii

For our one year wedding anniversary, my wife and I took a vacation with our six month old daughter (also named Maui) to the island of Maui, Hawaii.

The entire island was gorgeous and made for some epic travel photos! Here are 30 of my favorites from the trip.

Please contact me if you’d like a print of any of these photos!

And to cap it off, here are two of my favorite family photos from our adventures!

Helicopter Tour, Shark Cage, Snorkeling & Scuba Diving – GoPro Video From My Hawaii Trip

While in Oahu, Hawaii in December 2012 I had the opportunity to go on several incredible adventures including a helicopter tour of the island, snorkeling at Turtle Bay and Hanauma Bay, and scuba diving at Koko Crater. Of course, I brought along my GoPro and captured some of the action…

For the helicopter tour, I booked it through Paradise Helicopters, and I highly recommend them!

For the shark cage snorkel trip I booked it through North Shore Shark Adventures. It was awesome, but I got lucky and only had six people on the trip with me, whereas they usually have up to 24 people on the boat at a time. I heard that another company on the island only brings six at a time maximum, so I’d keep this in mind if you are planning a trip.

For my scuba dive, I went with Island Divers Hawaii. I didn’t find the staff at the shop or on the boat to be particularly friendly or helpful. If I decide to go scuba diving again in Oahu, it won’t be with this company.

15 Travel Photos from Oahu, Hawaii

I’ve already posted some panoramic and ProHDR iPhone photos from my recent trip to Hawaii, and now here are some proper travel photos taken with my Canon 5D MKII. While I wasn’t on a hardcore photo mission, it wasn’t very difficult to capture some remarkable images during the week I was in Oahu. Also, a handful of these were taken during my first helicopter ride…an adventure I highly recommend to any traveler. It was an incredible experience!

71 Years Later – Pearl Harbor Memorial From Above

Yesterday I had the privilege of taking a helicopter tour of Oahu, Hawaii, and it just so happened to be one day before the 71st anniversary of the day that Honolulu’s Pearl Harbor was attacked by Japanese forces. The air raid resulted in 1,177 deaths of US sailors and was the catalyst that led the United States to become active in World War II. I thought it was fitting to post this photo of the resting place of the sunken USS Arizona that I shot from above exactly 71 years later…

Thanks to all of the men and women who have served our country in the past, are serving our country right now, and who will server our country in the future!

To learn more about Pearl Harbor, you can visit their official Web site at pearlharboroahu.com. I visited the memorial in November of 1997, and it was a great experience!
