Sometimes the biggest and best photo shoots require you to wait a long time to share the images…like a really long time.
In September 2014 I went to New Jersey to shoot photos of Scotty Cranmer for Fox Racing for an ad campaign that wouldn’t launch until July of 2015.
Lucky for me I got the opportunity to go back and shoot some more with Scotty in May of 2015, and if you know Scotty at all it goes without saying that the photos I accumulated on those two trips were incredible. Scotty has always been one of my favorite riders to watch and favorite pros to shoot and work with, so I was beyond stoked to land this gig.
It was an absolute honor to shoot with Scotty and work with the talented Fox crew on this project!
Here are a handful of photos I shot for the campaign and some of the applications they were used in. At the bottom of this post you’ll also find the video that launched the Made For This campaign.
Here’s a video I recently filmed and edited for Fox Racing of three of their MX riders signing autographs at the Valley Fair mall in San Jose, California. I’m pretty stoked on how this came out!

Also, I’ve started to do some projects with Alli Sports, and I’m really excited about working with them this year. Here’s the first video I produced for their site and YouTube channel featuring Brett Banasiewicz and Pat Casey going “Head 2 Head” on some BMX trivia questions.
Life has been full speed ahead since I started my full-time freelance career earlier this month, and I couldn’t be more stoked!
This past week Fox Racing flew me to Nor Cal to shoot some photos and a video of an in-store autograph signing with some of their sponsored motocross riders including Ricky Carmichael, Jeff Emig, Ryan Dungey, and Ken Roczen. You can check out the photos from the afternoon on the Fox site or on their Facebook page. While you are there, go ahead and click the “LIKE” button on their page and check out some of their apparel. You won’t be disappointed. Hopefully they will release the video soon—I’m really pumped on how it turned out!
While I was in South Bend, Indiana, a few weeks ago I shot a house check with Brett Banasiewicz that is now featured on the ESPN site. Check that out by clicking here…
Lastly, for a bit of randomness… Mexican Flatland rider and artist Niko Del Real recently drew a caricature of me that he posted on the boombmx.com site. Niko has been creating BMX artwork for quite some time now, and while I was working for ridebmx.com I posted several galleries of his work featuring caricatures of various pro riders. Thanks to Niko for doing this! It looks sick!
This past weekend I took a trip to Portland, Oregon (a city I love and never seem to spend enough time in) for the second stop of this year’s Dew Tour. Unlike most trips I take and events I go to, this one wasn’t for Ride. While Jeff Z. was handling all the coverage for ridebmx.com I took the opportunity to help out some other brands I work with in the photo and video department. Check out a bit of what I did over the weekend at the links below… Monster Energy Event Recap Photo Gallery
I also meet up with Brian Hunt and went to the Vancouver, Washington skatepark to shoot some photos for potential DK and TSG ads. After we figure out where the photos are going and what will be used I’ll post a Behind The Photo article about one of the shots. In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek—an overview of the entire scene.
And finally, here are two videos I filmed and edited for Alli Sports / Gatorade…
Head on over to the Fox BMX Web site for some photos I shot of Drew Bezanson, Trey Jones, Ruben Alcantara, and Pat Casey from the recent Simpel Session contest in Tallinn, Estonia. The contest is hands down the best of the year in my opinion, and the Fox riders killed it!
Also, I want to give Fox a big thanks for always hooking up the fresh gear. They seriously have some of the best apparel and footwear out there, and I am always super grateful to be able to work with them. Here’s a quick look my latest threads from Fox… Go get some of you own.
I recently got the amazing opportunity to travel to Puerto Rico with three of the Fox BMX team riders (Scotty Cranmer, Drew Bezanson, and Chase Hawk) to shoot photos and film a video while they did autograph signings and some skatepark demos. It’s always fun to hang out with a group of cool riders, and exploring new places is a real treat, too. Puerto Rico is a beautiful place, and I’ll probably find myself there again some day as this was a quick two and a half day trip…

Fox has been hooking me up with their apparel and footwear for years now, and I’ve always been into what they do. Not only with their soft goods, but with their brand and team riders, too, so I was really stoked to be a part of this trip.
I’ve done some writing and photo work for Fox over the years, but this was the first time they brought me on a full trip, and the first time I did a video for them. The video received more than 30,000 views in just two weeks! (Even though the song got mixed reviews, haha! For the record, selecting tracks from the cleared music given to you for a project isn’t an easy task.)
