Last week Terry Adams posted an interview on his blog with a man that many consider to be one of the best flatland contest riders of all time, Justin Miller. Terry got a tremendous response from the flatland community about the interview…A lot of people have been waiting for something like that to pop up for a long time as Justin simply vanished from the BMX scene two years ago right after winning JoMoPro and placing third at Ninja Spin in April of 2009.
Over the years I had the privilege of spending time with Justin not only in in my home state of Louisiana and his hometown in Michigan, but also in Indiana, Missouri, Costa Rica, and Monaco as well. Justin is a great guy and I considered him a friend. I have a ton of great memories from hanging out with him, and one of my most memorable photo shoots of all time was with him on a frozen lake in Michigan. He was always a treat to shoot photos with, even though he openly claimed to hate being in front of the camera. Justin has a big heart and an incredible work ethic, and these days he is focused on building his businesses and creating a life for himself and his wife, and I respect that. Riders all over the world (myself including) would love to see him back on a bike one of these days, but until that happens, I pulled together 20 photos from my archives of the man, the myth, the legend…Justin Miller.
Also, here’s the video I made back in February 2008 from my most memorable photo shoot ever that I mentioned above…
